Sr Controls Engineer

Location: Greenville, South Carolina, USA; office-based role with approximately 35–40% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Manage engineering activities across projects, including design, standards, implementation, and testing.
• Develop electrical installation scopes, schematics, process flow diagrams, panel layouts, termination diagrams, and wiring schedules in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and UL requirements.
• Specify components, prepare bills of materials, obtain vendor quotations, and coordinate component purchasing.
• Program PLCs, HMIs, Powerflex drives, and servos for automated production lines.
• Commission and start up systems at customer facilities, troubleshoot controls issues remotely and on site, and train maintenance and operations personnel.
• Collaborate with colleagues, contractors, vendors, and extended project teams to solve technical challenges.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Powerflex drives.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering-related work is preferred.
• Electrical design experience using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Project, along with strong communication, documentation, and computer skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 35–40% of the time and work off-normal hours when supporting international customers.
