Location: Remote within the United States, with a strong preference for the Eastern Time Zone. Candidates outside that zone must be available during core business hours from 8 AM to 5 PM ET and travel to the Boston area approximately once per quarter for in-person collaboration. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
Salary: $145,000–$175,000 annually, based on experience and location.

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production features and services across a serverless AWS stack.
- Write production software primarily in Python, with TypeScript where appropriate.
- Build REST APIs and event-driven workflows connecting clinical systems with modern tooling.
- Integrate EHR systems and healthcare data standards when required.
- Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as part of daily development.
- Own delivery end-to-end, collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps, and improve code quality and reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing and shipping production software.
- Strong Python skills building services, APIs, and integrations, plus experience with SQL databases and data management.
- Hands-on production experience with AWS serverless services, including Lambda, Aurora Serverless, S3, and API Gateway.
- Experience with AWS CDK, event-driven architecture, REST, JSON, and OAuth.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI coding assistants and ability to turn loosely defined requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
- Independent problem-solving, clear communication, command-line proficiency, and experience with Unix/Linux shell environments.
Nice to have
- Healthcare or regulated-environment experience, including EHR systems such as MEDITECH, Oracle Health/Cerner, or Epic.
- Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, clinical interfaces, PHI protection, or federal health and VA environments.
- Experience with perioperative workflows, MUMPS in Intersystems Cache/IRIS, or TypeScript and modern frontend tooling.
