A/R Insurance Specialist (Medical Billing)

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States; onsite office role. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Monitor delinquent accounts and perform collection activities.
• Review reports, research account issues, and resolve payment and billing errors.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance providers, update system records, and document conversations.
• Contact patients regarding past-due balances and answer payment, billing, and insurance questions.
• Collaborate with coworkers to resolve insurance payment issues and maintain current account balances.
• Protect patient records and follow state, federal, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of combined medical billing and payment experience for Level 1; four years for Level 2 or Senior Level.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing and collections guidelines.
• Senior-level candidates must have at least two years of insurance resolution experience and knowledge of oncology medical coding.
• Senior-level candidates must be proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Required e-learning courses must be completed within 90 days of starting the position.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Finance or Business.
• Experience with oncology coding and revenue cycle operations.
