Design and Development, Co-Op Spring 2027 (MedTech)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; full-time on-site for the Spring 2027 co-op term

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour

Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops healthcare technologies and surgical products, including sutures, surgical staplers, advanced energy systems, robotic surgery devices, clip appliers, trocars, and synthetic mesh devices.

What you will do

• Perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support medical device product design.
• Contribute to design solutions using CAD tools, simulation tools, and fundamental engineering principles.
• Assist with developing laboratory tests and interpreting data results.
• Recommend next steps based on test and analysis outcomes.
• Build simulation and kinematics models and perform stack-up analysis with intermediate CAD training, where applicable.
• Increase responsibilities through 3–4 month rotations and potential multiple co-op placements.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an accredited college or institution pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; PhD candidates may be considered.
• Have completed at least two semesters of study and remain a student during the co-op term.
• Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Be legally and permanently authorized to work in the United States for the full co-op term and not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Be available to work full-time on-site from January 11, 2027, through approximately April 30, 2027; coursework must be completed outside 8am–5pm Monday–Friday business hours.
• Demonstrate leadership or participation in campus programs or community service activities.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience in the medical device industry.
• Availability for multiple rotations.
