Data Science Co-Op, Spring 2027 (MedTech)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; onsite co-op from January 11, 2027 to April 30, 2027. Candidates must be permanently authorized to work in the United States for the full term and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Compensation: $23.50–$52.50 per hour, based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze structured and unstructured surgical datasets for robotics, handheld instruments, and digital products R&D teams.
• Support the conceptualization of new surgical tools and platforms.
• Write software for collaborative data analysis and maintain data quality.
• Design and optimize data visualizations for engineering and business stakeholders.
• Develop and conduct mechanical, electrical, and biological tissue laboratory experiments.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, data engineers, and data scientists under mentorship.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in engineering, computer science, data science, statistics, or a related computing discipline.
• Strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering principles and at least two completed semesters before the co-op term.
• Student status through the co-op term, with no graduation before January 11, 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrated proficiency in Python.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Demonstrated leadership or participation in campus programs or community service and strong interest in healthcare.

Nice to have

• Experience with scientific or engineering datasets and Python data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, or PySpark.
• Experience with machine learning tools and algorithms, SQL, Tableau, and Git.
