AI/ML Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Reston, Virginia; must commute to the office at least 2 days per week

What you will do

• Develop solutions using data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning practices.
• Analyze large datasets and create visualizations to identify meaningful trends.
• Develop software supporting data and AI objectives using modern tooling.
• Participate in Scrum meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives, and lean-agile investigations.
• Collaborate with other interns on a technically focused project and present results to executives.
• Write and maintain user guide documentation.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance or higher as required.
• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computational Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or Computer Science focused on AI.
• Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebook, and associated data science libraries.
• Completed coursework in Java, Python, or another object-oriented, typed language.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, read existing code with senior developer support, and complete tasks.

Nice to have

• Rising senior status.
• Experience implementing AI solutions with cloud-based or cloud-native tools.
• Experience with data cleansing, data architecture concepts, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
