Assistant Manager - Optical

Location: Ankeny, Iowa, USA; onsite at the optical retail store

What you will do

• Monitor profit, sales, performance goals, and store financial reporting.
• Oversee the eyeglass department, ensuring operational efficiency, quality standards, and policy compliance.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate opticians, contact lens sales associates, and receptionists where applicable.
• Maintain outstanding customer service and ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are implemented.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office while providing required store reports.
• Support staffing forecasts, recruiting, selection, and retention of store associates.

Requirements

• Optical sales experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and build strong associate relationships.
• Understanding of store operations and performance standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze financial reports and solve problems of varied scope.
