TL;DR
Assistant General Counsel (Sports Media and Corporate Legal): Supporting corporate legal strategy, compliance, complex transactions, contracts, litigation, real estate, employment, intellectual property, and mergers and acquisitions with an accent on contract negotiation, risk management, and cross-functional business advice. Focus on designing legal solutions, overseeing outside counsel, managing disputes and discovery, and building efficient compliance protocols.
Location: Berwyn, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid office-based role

What you will do
- Develop and implement corporate legal strategy, compliance functions, and practical legal department protocols.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with sports teams, leagues, conferences, networks, universities, venues, events, sponsors, and talent.
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, financing transactions, and integration efforts.
- Research legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into business solutions while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Support dispute resolution and litigation, including demand letters, discovery management, settlement negotiations, and outside counsel oversight.
- Coach legal team members and provide legal support to human resources, finance, and other business functions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- JD degree and admission to practice law in the state where located, with evidence of good standing.
- Excellent written and oral business communication, drafting, negotiation, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Experience across multiple legal disciplines, with a strong focus on contract drafting and negotiation.
- Ability to collaborate with senior and executive-level staff in a fast-paced environment and uphold legal ethics, transparency, and compliance.
- Must already have authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Experience with consumer data privacy and security, technology transactions, SaaS agreements, intellectual property, and privacy policies.
- In-house legal experience.
- Experience in the sports media industry.
