Mid-Level Surveyor

Location: Based out of the Kansas City, Missouri office; daily outdoor field work and travel for out-of-town assignments required

What you will do

• Assist the party chief with boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, design, and construction surveys.
• Perform field layout and measurements using standard tapes and electronic field equipment.
• Prepare base maps and calculate elevations, areas, and volumes from field survey notes.
• Read and interpret topographic maps and design drawings.
• Maintain surveying equipment, vehicle inventory, records, reports, and correspondence.
• Perform additional surveying duties as required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of or ability to learn land surveying principles, practices, mathematics, computations, and survey software.
• Ability to learn, use, and care for surveying instruments and equipment.
• Ability to perform accurate arithmetic computations and basic calculations from field data.
• Basic understanding of survey or CAD computer applications.
• Effective written and oral communication, reliable execution of directions, and accurate record keeping.
• Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and willingness and ability to travel for out-of-town work required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Local Kansas City-area residency.
