Survey Party/Crew Chief (Land Surveying)

What you will do

• Lead field survey crews and manage the organization, efficiency, accuracy, and safety of survey operations.
• Plan and execute construction, right-of-way, control, topographic, and related surveys.
• Collect and analyze survey data using GPS and other surveying equipment to measure locations, angles, distances, and elevations.
• Coordinate with local officials, engineers, contractors, supervisors, and utility companies.
• Define property and right-of-way boundaries and review plans, plats, and legal documents.
• Prepare reports, descriptions, administrative documentation, and accurate final survey maps.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of surveying experience or training.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.
• Ability to safely use and operate equipment associated with the position, typically within 30 days.
• Ability to read labels and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, supervise crew members, provide instructions and training, and resolve problems.
