ISO Manager, EMS & OHSMS (EV Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, supporting manufacturing operations in Kansas and Nevada; approximately 30–40% domestic travel is required.

What you will do

• Own ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation, certification, sustainment, and transition planning across Kansas and Nevada sites.
• Convert fit-gap findings into prioritized action plans and coordinate consultants, certification bodies, and audit activities.
• Develop and maintain EMS/OHSMS documentation, including environmental aspects, HIRA, legal requirements, operational controls, emergency preparedness, and management reviews.
• Lead internal audit planning, auditor qualification, nonconformity closure, corrective actions, and PDCA-based improvement.
• Establish cross-site governance, risk tracking, KPI reporting, executive briefings, and program budget inputs.
• Coordinate with EHS, Operations, Engineering, Facilities, HR, Procurement, Quality, RBA, and corporate stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in environmental, health and safety, compliance, or manufacturing management systems.
• At least 5 years leading or co-leading ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation, certification, sustainment, or audit-readiness activities.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, U.S. federal EHS regulations, OSHA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, and EPCRA.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, PMP, PRINCE2, CSP, CIH, CHMM, REM, or ASQ CMQ/OE certification.
• Experience in lithium-ion battery, EV supply chain, semiconductor, chemical, or large-scale automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with RBA Code of Conduct and VAP audits, ISO 9001 integration, or ISO transition planning.
• Familiarity with EHS information systems, Power BI, Palantir Foundry, or similar compliance dashboards.
• Experience with Japanese parent-company structures, Hoshin Kanri, or English/Japanese communication.
