Transportation Engineer Intern (Roadway Design)

What you will do

• Assist with planning and design for roadway and highway infrastructure projects.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, memoranda, and engineering studies.
• Evaluate alignments, typical sections, right-of-way needs, design alternatives, project constraints, and costs.
• Review transportation plans and documents for compliance with applicable standards and project scope.
• Use MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, and other computer-aided engineering tools to produce drawings and supporting documents.
• Participate in site visits, field activities, construction observation, data collection, redlines, submittals, and as-built drawings under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Familiarity with engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
