ECSI Experienced Service Technician (Low Voltage Systems)

Location: Eagan, Minnesota, United States; onsite field work at residential and commercial job sites

Pay range: $38.21–$51.07 per hour, under the MN Limited Energy collective bargaining agreement.

What you will do

• Install, service, and test low-voltage systems, including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, security, structured cabling, and nurse call systems.
• Assist with special projects and service calls.
• Continuously learn new low-voltage products, upgrades, and software programs.
• Work at high-end residential and commercial job sites and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience in low-voltage systems.
• Power Limited License (PLT) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer networking knowledge and proficiency with PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, customer service, organization, time management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Valid driver’s license, dependability, flexibility, and ability to meet strict deadlines; ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test.

Nice to have

• Computer Science certificate.
• Experience with Notifier, Brivo, Hanwha, AMAG, or Genetec.

Hiring process

• Attend class one day per week through the free Joint Apprenticeship Training Program while working 40 hours per week as an apprentice AV technician.
• The program typically takes three years to complete and become licensed, with opportunities to test out of some areas and shorten the program.
