Associate Legal Counsel (Insurance)

What you will do

• Provide practical, commercially sound legal advice on insurance and reinsurance business operations.
• Advise on and negotiate insurance and reinsurance agreements and commercial contracts with business partners, agents, and brokers.
• Review transactions and documents for legal and regulatory compliance, while instructing and managing outside counsel.
• Manage legal and regulatory matters related to products, business strategies, and operating models.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting relevant business areas.
• Collaborate with legal, business, and functional teams across Southeast Asian jurisdictions and support governance activities and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 5–9 years of post-qualification experience.
• Qualified lawyer with a degree from a reputable university.
• Prior experience in insurance or reinsurance matters is required.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, influencing, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple jurisdictions.

• Experience with regulatory and licensing matters in cross-border scenarios.
