Manager, Regulatory Compliance

Location: Onsite at Persiaran Lagoon, Sunway City, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Salary: MYR 10,000–12,000 monthly

What you will do

• Serve as Data Protection Officer and advise departments on applying Malaysia’s PDPA 2024.
• Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments, privacy risk reviews, internal audits, and compliance assessments.
• Investigate and manage personal data breaches, including notifications, records, and remediation.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess business and third-party risks, and report findings to management and regulators.
• Guide teams on Data Subject Access Requests and data protection rights while supporting compliant contracts and business processes.
• Design training and awareness initiatives covering data protection, ethics, anti-bribery, whistleblowing, and corporate governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
• At least eight years of experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, ISO, or legal roles, preferably in multi-branch retail.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian company law, contract law, the MACC Act, PDPA, and applicable industry regulations.
• Experience with risk analysis, issue diagnosis, compliance processes, documentation, and sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.
• Must be willing to work onsite at Persiaran Lagoon, Sunway City, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Nice to have

• Professional certification in data protection, compliance, risk, or ISO standards, such as CIPM, CIPT, CRM, FRM, CAMS, GRCP, ISO/IEC 27001, or ISO 37001.
