What you will do

  • Complete complex residential real estate evaluations for new loans and renewals involving atypical properties.
  • Research and analyze comparable residential sales and rental data from multiple databases.
  • Determine property values using sales comparison, cost, and income approaches.
  • Apply evaluation and appraisal guidelines to real estate-related loans.
  • Prepare replacement cost estimates to derive insurable values for complex residential properties.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver timely and accurate evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of real estate evaluation or appraisal experience, including sales, research, and/or valuation.
  • Coursework in Real Estate Finance, Appraisal/Valuation, or Market or Feasibility Studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of legal descriptions and surveys.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

  • At least 3 years of real estate evaluation or appraisal experience.
  • Progress toward or completion of Appraiser Trainee Authorization requirements, including the required 75 hours of AQB core courses and/or authorization from the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.
