Certified Residential Appraiser (Real Estate)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, USA; on-site property assessments required

What you will do

• Conduct unbiased assessments of residential market areas, properties, statistics, and other relevant information.
• Analyze comparable sales, property conditions, neighborhoods, trends, amenities, and functional design to estimate property value.
• Document on-site assessments with photographs, measurements, land diagrams, sales data, and demographic information.
• Generate fee quotes and present property evaluations and value estimates to buyers, sellers, investors, creditors, leasing agents, and real estate agents.
• Partner with the Lead Appraiser to resolve requests and recommend process improvements that reduce addendums and quality-control rejections.
• Meet department turnaround expectations and escalate issues when deadlines cannot be met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active appraiser certification(s) required by applicable state regulatory agencies.
• Typically two years of related experience with a mortgage or appraisal company.
• Ability to work within varying client-driven deadlines in a fast-paced, accurate environment.
• Strong analytical, narrative writing, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to analyze data, draw sound conclusions, summarize results, and communicate clearly to appraisers, vendors, and operational staff.

Nice to have

• Experience with REO appraisals.
• HUD/FHA experience.
