Engineer, Reliability, Rotating Equipment, Ponca City Refinery (Rotating Equipment)

Location: Ponca City, Oklahoma, United States; onsite at the Ponca City Refinery. Travel up to 5% and occasional extended hours, weekends, holidays, and after-hours callouts may be required.

Base salary: $127,800–$156,200 per year.

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise for the reliability of refinery rotating equipment, with emphasis on specialized valves.
• Lead the design, installation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of mechanical systems.
• Assess equipment criticality and develop asset strategies to improve reliability and operational performance.
• Monitor reliability indicators, analyze data, reduce downtime, and increase equipment availability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analyses, and communicate solutions across teams.
• Estimate costs and oversee reliability projects from conception through commissioning, including management of change and turnaround support.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States; temporary visa holders and candidates requiring current or future sponsorship are not eligible.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of professional engineering experience in energy, petrochemicals, industrial, or a similar industry.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to work safely around hot, high-speed machinery, chemicals, hydrocarbons, high pressure, heat, and harsh weather.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet, transport articles up to 50 pounds, wear required protective equipment, and maintain a respirator seal.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of experience as a reliability or discipline engineer in refining or petrochemicals.
• Experience with SAP and reliability software such as APM or Meridium.
• Experience developing Cause Maps and leading root cause analysis teams.
