Intern/Co-op - Refining Mechanical Engineer (Summer 2027) (Refining)

Location: Findlay, Ohio, with additional positions available in Anacortes, Washington; Canton, Ohio; Catlettsburg, Kentucky; Detroit, Michigan; El Paso, Texas; Garyville, Louisiana; Kenai, Alaska; Mandan, North Dakota; Martinez, California; Robinson, Illinois; Salt Lake City, Utah; St. Paul Park, Minnesota; Texas City, Texas; and Wilmington, California. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $32.92–$41.67 per hour.

What you will do

• Become familiar with industry codes, engineering best practices, and refinery operations.
• Work with refinery professionals across engineering disciplines and process areas.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules as an area refining or project engineer.
• Support design efforts and assist with construction for approved refinery projects.
• Improve equipment reliability through root cause failure analysis, maintenance-program optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate technologies, materials, and repair methods for rotating and fixed equipment.

Requirements

• Current major in Mechanical Engineering.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program.
• Strong academic performance.
• Authorization to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability for spring, summer, or fall semester positions.
