Manager, Fund Accounting Systems

Location: Washington, DC; in-office 4 days per week

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus potential annual discretionary incentive compensation

What you will do

• Serve as the functional lead and subject matter expert for Fund Accounting applications, investor reporting, and financial close processes.
• Translate Fund Accounting processes, user needs, and strategic objectives into clear requirements and functional specifications for developers and QA teams.
• Manage, enhance, and support Investran, Appian BPM, and in-house applications, including day-to-day issue resolution.
• Lead initiatives to streamline, automate, and modernize Finance operations across Fund Accounting.
• Partner with Fund Management, Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, Entity Compliance, Human Capital Management, and Global Technology Services.
• Own change management activities, including training, communications, and adoption of new tools and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Economics concentration preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, finance operations, or business systems and process improvement.
• Experience acting as a liaison between finance or business teams and technology or development teams, including writing business requirements and process documentation.
• Accounting systems expertise required, with Investran experience strongly preferred; familiarity with Appian BPM, Salesforce, or PeopleSoft Financials is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, investor reporting, financial close processes, system structures, data flows, and application architecture.
• Advanced Excel, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead direct and indirect team members.

Nice to have

• Background in private equity, fund accounting, or alternative investment operations.
• SQL experience.
• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and JIRA or similar tools.
