Manager, Fund Accounting Policy (Private Markets)

Location: Washington, DC, United States

Base salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually, plus potential discretionary incentive compensation.

hirify.global is a global private markets investment firm, with AlpInvest operating integrated platforms for primary fund investments, co-investments, and secondary and portfolio finance.

What you will do

• Act as the GAAP accounting liaison between AlpInvest and hirify.global’s corporate, fund accounting, tax, legal, treasury, audit, and deal teams.
• Standardize AlpInvest accounting policies, perform gap assessments, draft policy papers, and roll out updated guidance.
• Research complex technical accounting matters, prepare analyses and position memos, and collaborate with external auditors.
• Advise on fund structures, investment accounting, portfolio finance, secondary transactions, capital activity, fees, expenses, and financial statement presentation.
• Prepare consolidation analyses for new fund structures and assess impacts on hirify.global’s consolidated reporting and SEC disclosures.
• Support the integration of accounting operations into enterprise systems and identify technology and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or technical accounting policy required.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, including technical accounting research, analysis, and documentation.
• Experience applying US GAAP to alternative asset management fund structures, investment accounting, ASC 946 reporting, ASC 810 consolidation, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and ASC 820 fair value measurement.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

• Concentration in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with SOX 404 internal control compliance.
