Claims Manager (Workers Compensation)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 2 days working from home upon eligibility.

Salary: $127,150–$153,060 per year.

What you will do

• Lead and develop multiple indemnity claim units through direct management of Claim Supervisors.
• Ensure workers compensation claims comply with statutes, regulations, case law, and company standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve claim quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and outcomes.
• Provide guidance on complex, high-exposure, litigated, and strategically significant claims.
• Protect financial integrity through accurate reserving, settlement authority oversight, and claim cost containment.
• Partner with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments on strategic initiatives and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and technical training.
• At least 8 years of experience in workers compensation insurance claims adjusting, claims operations, or a closely related function.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• California adjusting designation or the ability to obtain it within 9 months of placement.
• Knowledge of workers compensation regulations and industry best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/365, proprietary and vendor software, and analysis of data from multiple sources.
