Senior Manager, Packaging Sustainability

Location: Chicago, United States (hybrid), with moderate travel to customer locations, stores, manufacturing facilities, and other business sites.

Base salary: $120,800–$151,000 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead packaging sustainability and Extended Producer Responsibility work for the North American zone in alignment with global sustainability commitments and governance.
• Translate global priorities into regional plans, roadmaps, programs, and cross-functional execution supporting packaging and net-zero objectives.
• Identify and advance packaging initiatives with North American suppliers, covering scope, timing, deliverables, costs, and expected impact.
• Improve supplier collaboration models and coordinate with Procurement, R&D, Sustainability, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, and Operations.
• Support North America carbon data foundations, including supplier data collection and reporting tools.
• Lead EPR readiness and compliance activities, including policy monitoring, applicability assessments, registrations, reporting, fee forecasting, and coordination with producer responsibility organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, business, sustainability, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• More than 6 years of experience across procurement, sustainability, supply chain, packaging, compliance, or project management.
• Experience leading cross-functional sustainability or packaging initiatives and coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility, packaging compliance, circular packaging principles, recyclability requirements, and packaging data management.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into procurement, supplier, packaging design, and business actions.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, communication, presentation, business case development, and data-driven decision-making skills.
