Engineer III, Hydraulic Modeling & Optimization (Oil and Gas)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; approximately 10% overnight travel required.

Base salary: $127,800–$156,200 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and tune static and transient hydraulic models for pipeline systems using industry simulation software.
• Evaluate operating parameters, system design, capacity, operating costs, and surge conditions.
• Create modeling scenarios to support business decisions, growth initiatives, economic analysis, and risk mitigation.
• Lead or contribute to pipeline optimization and operational strategy development.
• Evaluate optimization projects and justify equipment changes, replacements, compressor modifications, pump modifications, and engine replacements.
• Develop tools for Field Operations, Scheduling, and Control Center teams while coordinating priorities, resources, timelines, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States; U.S. citizens, nationals, permanent residents, refugees, asylees, and qualifying temporary residents are eligible.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least 4 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
• At least 2 years of pipeline hydraulic modeling, simulation, and optimization experience.
• Basic knowledge of natural gas pipelines, compressor stations, gas processing, and related facilities.
• Temporary visa holders and candidates requiring current or future work-authorization sponsorship are not eligible.

Nice to have

• 7 or more years of oil and gas industry experience.
• Experience in field operations or corporate engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of pumps, motors, engines, and efficiency optimization.
• Advanced programming proficiency for software applications.
• Advanced proficiency with NextGen, Synergi Gas, ProMax, or similar hydraulic modeling software, and Microsoft Excel.
