Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Hybrid role based in Greenwood Village or Lakewood, Colorado, or North Salt Lake City, Utah. Travel up to 10%.

Salary: $115,000–$180,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Design HVAC and other mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, renovations, and multiple building types.
• Perform and oversee load and energy calculations using Trace 700/3D, IES, and similar software.
• Survey existing buildings, document HVAC systems, select equipment, and develop design calculations.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, reports, studies, and code compliance research.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, contractors, code officials, clients, and project teams during design and construction administration.
• Lead project teams, serve as the primary client contact, perform QA/QC, guide junior engineers, and support business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 8 years of mechanical design experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC system design, codes, standards, and design guidelines, including required experience with chilled water systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, organize and prioritize work, and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• At least 4 years of project management experience.
• Experience with mission-critical data center projects.
