Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing)

Location: Hybrid work schedule based in Fulton, Maryland, United States; ability to travel required.

Salary: USD 100,000–150,000 per year, based on qualifications and relevant experience.

What you will do

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems for varied engineering projects.
• Manage and design multiple concurrent projects, including budget and schedule control.
• Lead multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate project deliverables.
• Prepare and interpret ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric drawings, and bills of materials.
• Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.
• Develop technical, fee, and qualification-based proposals and support marketing and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with load calculation software, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Knowledge of mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes and applicable client standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, organization, analytical skills, and project management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with energy modeling.
• Local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) experience and relationships.
• Active involvement in local industry organizations.
• Project management certifications.
