Director, Neuroscience External Innovation (APAC)

Location: Shanghai, China; work across time zones is required.

What you will do

• Identify external licensing and collaboration opportunities aligned with neuroscience disease-area priorities.
• Source, prioritize, and lead scientific assessments of opportunities for licensing, joint development, investment, and strategic alliances.
• Shape the external innovation strategy through internal and external networks across biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic organizations.
• Build a pool of early-phase assets through business model creation, acquisitions, collaborations, and external initiatives.
• Lead scientific interactions with senior leaders, governance meetings, venture organizations, academic research centers, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage inbound opportunity documentation and databases while ensuring cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

• PhD with at least 10 years of neuroscience research experience, or at least 7 years of demonstrable pharmaceutical R&D experience.
• Demonstrated track record in drug discovery.
• Expertise in neurodegeneration, neuropsychiatry, and/or ophthalmology.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external networks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Strong oral and written communication, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.
