Senior Director & Asia Pacific Regional Lead, External R&D (Vaccines)

Location: Beijing, China; up to 15% domestic or international travel

What you will do

• Scan biotechnology companies, academic institutions, and government-sponsored research organizations across China and the Asia Pacific region for high-potential innovations.
• Evaluate scientific and technological opportunities for strategic fit with the hirify.global Vaccines portfolio and develop recommendations for partnerships, licensing, or technology acquisition.
• Build relationships through global and regional partnering meetings and networking conferences.
• Support business negotiations with Global Business Development and Legal teams, including deal structure evaluation and technical due diligence.
• Coordinate cross-functional engagement with Research, CMC, Vaccine Portfolio Strategy, Medical Affairs, and Public Franchise stakeholders.
• Present assessments, risk-benefit analyses, and strategic recommendations to Vaccines Leadership and governance committees.

Requirements

• M.D. or Ph.D. in bacteriology, virology, immunology, a non-infectious disease, or another scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of post-graduate experience.
• Experience in Vaccines R&D and external partnering is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation, and influencing skills across organizational levels.
• Resourceful and entrepreneurial approach with current knowledge of vaccine-relevant innovation opportunities.
• Fluent English communication skills required, with the ability to work in an international context.
