Substation Team Lead (Power)

Location: Spokane or Seattle, Washington, United States

Expected annual compensation: $101,812–$145,445 in Spokane or $128,604–$183,720 in Bellevue/Seattle.

What you will do

• Lead Power Delivery relationships with local key clients, overseeing project execution, quality, delivery, technical leadership, profitability, and new opportunities.
• Supervise and grow a local substation team of engineers and designers, managing workload, utilization, quality, morale, training, and performance reviews.
• Manage client, project, and technical support activities, including scope, schedules, budgets, risk, financial controls, and project closeout.
• Coordinate work sharing with substation teams and technical peers across regional and national offices.
• Support marketing, proposals, and business development in partnership with technical leadership.
• Oversee project components such as public involvement, environmental permitting, right-of-way acquisition, and construction management when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of professional experience.
• Strong communication, listening, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Professional registration, license, or certification may be required for the role.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture is required.

Nice to have

• PMP certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Experience with Primavera or SureTrak.
• Familiarity with Washington-based utilities.
• Professional Engineer license with a focus in Power.
• Substation physical and outdoor design experience, including yard layouts, grounding, lightning protection, control buildings, raceways, auxiliary AC/DC systems, and bills of materials.
