Bridge Coordinator/EIT (Structural Engineering)

Location: Lexington or Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States; local candidates preferred

What you will do

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to bridge design projects.
• Develop designs for steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental, and cable bridges, as well as box culverts and retaining walls.
• Perform structural load calculations, geometric layouts, and quantity development.
• Select standard bridge engineering procedures and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Participate in bridge inspections and support highway and railway projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates without an EIT may be placed in a Design Coordinator role and expected to obtain the certificate.
• Experience or familiarity with bridge design and inspection.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and structural engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Experience with Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil 3D.
• Strong computer skills for structural layout and design, along with good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, LARSA, CSiBridge, Bentley LEAP Prestressed Beam Design, spColumn, or LPile.
