Staff Attorney (Real Estate)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 USD annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts.
• Draft and revise housing agreements, leases, and other real estate documents.
• Support paralegals and property management staff with contracts and external communications.
• Respond to escalated resident complaints, vendor disputes, and matters involving state and federal Fair Housing laws.
• Coordinate with internal and external counsel on litigation, entity acquisitions, and asset acquisitions.
• Conduct legal due diligence and provide guidance on potential acquisitions.

Requirements

• Law degree from an accredited university or law school.
• Admission to the bar of at least one US state and eligibility to work in the United States.
• 2–5 years of professional legal experience, preferably in multifamily housing.
• Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
