Strategic Sourcing Supply Chain Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, designs and builds customized fire and emergency truck bodies, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Support strategic purchasing, global sourcing, and operations activities.
• Research potential suppliers, assess commodity markets, gather quote information, and analyze bids.
• Recommend sourcing plans and support negotiations of long-term supplier agreements.
• Lead initiatives to improve supply chain delivery, quality, cost, and risk.
• Maintain regular communication with suppliers and support Buyers and Purchasing Agents.
• Develop data analytics tools to streamline procurement decision-making.

Requirements

• Student status throughout the entire internship, working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
