Purchasing Intern (Summer 2027)

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, an hirify.global company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies for waste collection fleets.

What you will do

• Set up and maintain suppliers in the Pierce database.
• Prepare weekly reports for procurement department leads to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional teams to gather part drawings, part information, estimated arrival dates, and annual usage data.
• Build supplier relationships and obtain part-number cross-references.
• Process internal purchasing requests for non-inventory parts and services, including tax-exempt certificates.
• Support ERP price updates, Supplier Portal training, department improvement projects, past-due orders, and critical shortages.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field throughout the internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
