Senior Quality Engineer (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite

Annual compensation: $83,500–$155,200, with potential eligibility for annual incentives.

What you will do

• Assess customer, aerospace, defense, and regulatory quality requirements before production begins.
• Represent Quality in a Lean manufacturing environment and embed Quality at the Source across site processes.
• Support supplier quality activities, audits, corrective actions, and supplier performance improvements.
• Apply FMEA, Quality Control Plans, SPC, FAI, PPAP, metrics, and capability analysis for process validation.
• Lead data-driven investigations and corrective and preventive actions for internal, supplier, and customer quality issues.
• Support new product development with predictive reliability, acceptance criteria, specifications, control limits, and mentorship for quality personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality engineering environments.
• Experience with quality management systems, supplier quality, auditing, corrective actions, and quality planning.
• Knowledge of aerospace, defense, and regulated quality systems, including AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Minitab, data analysis, statistical methods, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Ability to work onsite in San Diego, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
• Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification or experience.
• Experience with Intelex or a similar quality management system.
