Location: Augusta, Maine; work from a hirify.global office and travel to client sites. Occasional travel throughout New England and beyond is estimated at 5–10% of the year.

Salary: USD $85,000–$116,625.60 per year, plus potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Administer FEMA Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation grant programs, including HMA, FMA, and BRIC.
  • Track grant data and finances, review and audit documentation, and provide quality control for project records.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, municipalities, nonprofits, and other grant stakeholders.
  • Develop local grant-program plans, policies, procedures, reports, technical memoranda, and presentations.
  • Explain FEMA grant programs from Preliminary Damage Assessment through close-out and deliver training, exercises, and public-facing subject-matter content.
  • Interpret federal, state, and local regulations and manage multiple deadlines, deliverables, and complex budget spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, engineering, health and safety management, public administration, or a related field.
  • 2–8 years of experience managing or administering FEMA grant programs.
  • Working knowledge of FEMA Grants Portal and FEMA GO.
  • Consulting-environment experience, strong technical writing, and excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship, a current driver’s license, and the ability to travel by air, bus, train, and other means.
  • Ability to pass detailed background checks, including criminal-history checks, and drug screening.

Nice to have

  • Bi- or multilingual skills.
  • PE, CPA, FEMA/DHS, ICS 100/200, or other related certifications.
