ROW/Land Representative (Land Services)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. The role requires field work, travel as needed, outdoor activities in varying climates, and work at governmental agencies, corporate entities, client offices, and other field locations.

Salary: USD $35,568–$83,200 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Research property-owner contact information and initiate contact regarding project-affected property.
• Explain property appraisals and valuations, secure access permissions, and maintain positive relationships with landowners and tenants.
• Negotiate ROW options, easements, fee interests, curative documents, and damage settlements in accordance with project policies.
• Maintain detailed contact diaries, payment logs, weekly activity reports, and ROW documentation.
• Coordinate with landowner attorneys, public agencies, project teams, and community stakeholders.
• Support construction activities, project mail-outs, file preparation, data needs, and safety, quality, and sustainability requirements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a ROW agent or in a related ROW position; an associate degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of land descriptions and terminology, surface and subsurface rights, ROW document analysis, valuation calculations, and negotiation techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and word processing, plus experience with land database and digital filing systems.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain a state Notary Public credential and any required state real estate license.
• Ability to walk long distances over varying terrain, lift or move up to 35 pounds, travel as required, and work indoors and outdoors.
