Senior M365 Engineer (Microsoft 365)

Location: Owings Mills, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with 2 days per week on-site and up to 3 days per week from home

Base salary for Maryland: $87,000–$148,000 annually. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Serve as the Level 3 messaging engineer and primary Exchange Online and on-premises subject matter expert.
• Provide architecture, design, and implementation leadership for enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and service-recovery efforts.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including hybrid Exchange, secure email gateway, SharePoint, OneDrive, and mobile device management improvements.
• Design Teams policies, messaging security controls, identity integrations, directory synchronization, and Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness.
• Lead vulnerability response, patch sequencing, health and capacity analysis, roadmap planning, and platform integration work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• In-depth expertise in infrastructure operations and messaging platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Exchange Online and on-premises Exchange, IronPort, Microsoft Teams, M365/Entra ID, mobile device management, and messaging security controls.
• Experience with architectural oversight, communication-system modernization, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work on-site in Owings Mills, Maryland, 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business administration, governance, migration planning, and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Teams administration at scale and experience operationalizing Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for configuration, reporting, and policy enforcement.
