Project Manager (Passenger Rail & Transit Engineering)

Location: Walnut Creek or Oakland, California, United States; on-site work at client offices is required.

Salary: $162,225–$231,750 annually, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.

What you will do

• Manage transit capital program engineering design and construction projects or programs from conceptual design through completion.
• Oversee projects involving trackwork, station improvements, traction power and electrical systems, automated fare collection, and state-of-good-repair initiatives.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress; and conduct field inspections as required.
• Coordinate multiple projects concurrently and maintain proactive project management systems.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and manage technical personnel while supporting client needs.
• Provide project management and technical services to transit clients in Northern California.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 10 years of related experience, including at least 5 years of project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, business development, strategic planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in client offices in Northern California; hiring is contingent upon client approval.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• PMP certification.
• Understanding of traction power systems for transit agencies.
• Experience working with California transit agencies such as BART, CCJPA, or Caltrain.
