Senior AI Infrastructure Architect

Location: Chicago, United States; flexible living locations across the US with travel as needed

Base salary: $175,000–$245,000 annually; total estimated compensation including annual incentive compensation: $201,000–$306,000

What you will do

• Design, build, integrate, and operate production platform capabilities for governed AI usage.
• Develop approved model-access patterns, including Amazon Bedrock where applicable.
• Build infrastructure as code, deployment automation, CI/CD templates, and reusable platform components.
• Implement telemetry and data pipelines for token usage, model reporting, attribution, quotas, and cost management.
• Deploy sandboxed coding and tool-using agent environments and governed service mediation patterns, including MCP or equivalent approaches.
• Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, audit evidence capture, onboarding templates, runbooks, and operational handoffs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production cloud or platform infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, infrastructure as code, automation, or production operations.
• Experience with cloud networking, IAM, secrets management, logging, monitoring, deployment automation, and operational support.
• Strong software engineering or scripting skills for automation and platform tooling.
• Experience using AI tools for infrastructure automation, code generation, debugging, testing, or documentation.
• Familiarity with APIs, event-driven systems, secure deployment patterns, and translating ambiguous platform requirements into working systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock or other managed AI and model platforms.
• Experience with token and cost telemetry, usage attribution, chargeback, showback, or FinOps data pipelines.
• Experience with Temporal or comparable workflow orchestration platforms.
• Experience with containerized or sandboxed execution environments, agent tools, MCP, model gateways, API gateways, or secure service brokers.
• Experience supporting regulated, client-confidential, PHI, PII, or other sensitive workloads.
