Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (Biotech)

Location: RTP, NC, United States; hybrid with at least three days per week in the office. In-office requirements may increase based on business needs.

What you will do

• Lead FP&A planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial processes across the organization.
• Develop and implement detailed 3–5-year operating forecasts supporting all departments.
• Partner with budget managers, operations, R&D leaders, accounting, and finance to assess financial outcomes and maintain reporting accuracy.
• Identify operational financial risks and opportunities, recommend cost improvements, and communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Prepare executive presentation materials and sophisticated reports on financial status, risks, reconciliations, and operational metrics.
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, including goal setting, performance management, mentoring, and recruitment support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field; a master’s degree may qualify with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• 12+ years of relevant finance experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 10+ years with a master’s degree.
• Clear understanding of financial modeling and forecasting, analytical problem-solving, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and prior experience with an ERP system.
• Experience working in a large organization and communicating effectively across all organizational levels.
• Management, organizational, time-management, collaboration, adaptability, and independent-working skills.
