Foreman (Construction)

Location: Fargo, North Dakota, United States; requires travel to project sites and availability for long-term out-of-town assignments.

Established construction contractor providing preconstruction, construction, and contracting services across commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living markets.

What you will do

• Coordinate, direct, and lead carpenters, laborers, operators, and other construction trade workers on job sites.
• Assign work and coordinate labor, materials, staffing resources, and hours with the project team.
• Monitor workmanship, efficiency, morale, communication, teamwork, and compliance with project quality standards.
• Communicate priorities, project issues, equipment maintenance needs, and resource requirements to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials such as concrete and wood backing or blocking.
• Inspect work in progress, maintain clean and organized job sites, and provide trade guidance and training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of directly related trades experience, with progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Familiarity with construction management software including Procore, MS Project, Excel, Sure Trak, or AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and understand building plans, specifications, shop drawings, and product data.
• Proven ability to drive safety initiatives; current or attainable OSHA and company safety compliance.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and move materials, tools, and ladders weighing up to 100 pounds, and to perform repetitive climbing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
• Ability to use electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools, manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and work in varying climate conditions.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary coursework or a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Forklift certification and commercial driver's license.
