Houston Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern - 2027 (AI)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work with in-person work in the local office and on client sites. Interns must be available to work in the designated location during business hours for the entire internship.

What you will do

• Collaborate with client-facing teams to deliver internal audit and financial advisory solutions.
• Support business process audits by identifying risks, testing controls, improving governance, and strengthening regulatory compliance.
• Assess technology risks and controls related to cybersecurity, AI, data governance, cloud, privacy, software development, and technology resilience.
• Analyze data in different formats to identify insights and develop actionable conclusions.
• Apply AI tools, data visualization, and automation technologies to improve engagement delivery.
• Participate in training, internal initiatives, and projects across multiple industries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of the internship.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for hirify.global without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with AI tools for analytical and research tasks, such as Microsoft Copilot or generative AI.
• Technical proficiency relevant to the assigned capability area, including data analysis and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
• Entry-level knowledge of software development practices and methodologies.
• Interest or experience with Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python, advanced analytics, and automation.
• Understanding of internal audit processes, frameworks, emerging technologies, and audit objectives.
• Interest in pursuing professional certifications.
