Staff Engineer (Applied AI / ML)

What you will do

• Lead client discovery workshops and translate business problems into AI use cases, product roadmaps, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria.
• Build rapid proof-of-concept applications and evolve successful prototypes into reliable, secure, maintainable production systems.
• Design single- and multi-agent systems with tool use, planning, state management, structured outputs, control loops, and failure recovery.
• Develop full-stack AI products across front-end experiences, backend services, APIs, data infrastructure, and cloud deployment.
• Build retrieval and grounding capabilities, including semantic and hybrid search, reranking, metadata filtering, and RAG integrations.
• Implement evaluation, observability, safety, governance, moderation, PII handling, prompt-injection defenses, and permission-aware tool use.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering or technical product engineering experience, including 1+ year building and deploying Generative AI or LLM applications in production.
• Expert Python proficiency and strong software engineering fundamentals for real-time, interactive, and batch services.
• Experience with REST, WebSockets, MCP, streaming APIs, event-driven architectures, authentication and authorization, and persistence design.
• Deep expertise in retrieval systems, embedding search, hybrid retrieval, metadata filtering, reranking, agentic search, and retrieval quality optimization.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker; Kubernetes; and CI/CD automation.
• Client-facing communication, discovery facilitation, technical product leadership, and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying and operating AI/ML systems in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience in Media & Entertainment, digital media supply chains, enterprise content automation, or multimodal media processing.
• Experience working in consultant or engineer delivery pods and rapidly prototyping with Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code.
