Global Head of Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $240,000–$375,000 annual base pay, plus a discretionary bonus that may include equity.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, development, and operationalization of shared developer tools and foundational engineering services.
• Own the end-to-end developer experience across build, testing, deployment, and runtime environments.
• Design and maintain DevSecOps integrations, CI/CD pipelines, shared services, API gateways, and engineering platforms.
• Build AI agents supporting the software development lifecycle and improve delivery efficiency.
• Define the vision, roadmap, priorities, standards, and product strategy for internal engineering platforms.
• Partner with Security, SRE, Risk, Control, Architecture, and business stakeholders to improve platform stability, reliability, security, and delivery metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 20+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in technical leadership.
• Strong background in platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure.
• Experience applying product management disciplines to internal engineering platforms, including vision, roadmaps, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, automation, agile delivery, security frameworks, SDLC governance, reliability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Financial services technology, risk, control, and regulatory knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with application modernization, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering.
• Experience leading teams through large-scale organizational change.
