Buyer (Procurement)

Employee-owned distribution company serving electrical, automation, pipe, valve, fitting, steam, lighting, industrial controls, and instrumentation industries through eight divisions and more than 75 locations.

What you will do

• Assemble requisitions, purchase orders, and special orders while coordinating merchandise specifications, quantities, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Source vendors, evaluate capabilities and quotations, perform comparative analyses, and maintain supplier relationships.
• Assist with negotiating supplier pricing and terms and provide sourcing, pricing, application, and delivery information.
• Manage vendor credits, replacement materials, surplus returns, order cancellations, and purchasing adjustments.
• Review inventory turns and surplus, identify ways to move slow or non-moving inventory, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Research ERP processes, create reports, update product and pricing data, and support purchasing operations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of distribution or customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of inventory calculations, forecasting, and modeling.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, organization, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day and work in a normal office environment.

Nice to have

• Three years of industry sales or procurement experience.
• Three years of experience with Eclipse ERP.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
