Senior Casualty Underwriter

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal business for the Casualty/Liabilities department.
• Assess risk desirability using claims history, company information, broker input, and guidance from subject matter experts.
• Negotiate and make sound underwriting decisions within the delegated authority level.
• Develop broker relationships, expand the broker network, attend broker events, and generate new business.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across different lines of business.
• Prepare accurate monthly management information covering submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

Requirements

• Relevant underwriting experience in Casualty departments; other relevant professional experience is also considered.
• Law or Business Administration degree preferred.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, required.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented approach with proactive, technically skilled, tenacious, and accountable behavior.
• Ability to collaborate across functions, work in a team, solve problems, and challenge with humility.
