Sr. Practice Accountant (Service Revenue)

What you will do

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations across revenue, assets, operating expenses, and liabilities.
• Review staff accountants’ work for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with US GAAP and internal controls.
• Mentor staff accountants through training, feedback, and day-to-day guidance.
• Analyze financial results, prepare variance explanations, and collaborate with Practice Accounting Operations.
• Support the integration of new physicians, acquired practices, and service lines, including opening balance sheets and cash-to-accrual conversions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, accounting best practices, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and liability recognition.
• Experience performing technical accounting research and working in accordance with US GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP experience; Workday is preferred.
• Ability to attend and work in the Nashville hybrid arrangement; an active CPA license is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Prior experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff.
• Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license.
