Senior Data Scientist (Payment Analytics)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $176,356–$329,334 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Develop analytics and reporting initiatives for strategy, operations, business, engineering, and R&D stakeholders.
• Analyze large datasets using regression, machine learning, hypothesis testing, and other statistical approaches.
• Measure KPI fluctuations, business initiative impact, and customer experience through indexes and continuous monitoring.
• Design foundational tests and backtesting to evaluate credit risk strategies and segment user profiles.
• Build predictive analyses and support revenue, loss, budgeting, risk, and incident forecasts.
• Diagnose patterns, correlations, concentrations, and root causes in payment and product performance while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science, risk, machine learning, and A/B testing.
• Professional coding experience with Python, Hive, and SQL.
• Familiarity with machine learning functions, forecasting models, and statistical analysis.
• Experience with Tableau or another data visualization tool.
• Ability to manipulate and integrate data from multiple sources and document sampling, assumptions, test design, metrics, and conclusions.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Payments industry knowledge.
• Risk analytics or operations experience in financial services, e-commerce, or operational performance.
• Strong proficiency in test design, feature creation, and model development.
