Senior Data Scientist, Trust & Safety - USDS (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $176,356–$329,334 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Partner with product, operations, policy, and engineering teams to design, execute, measure, and improve U.S. safety initiatives.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of user behavior and the safety ecosystem to influence decision-making.
• Design, research, develop, and apply ML/AI solutions for prediction, optimization, segmentation, and other business problems.
• Explore large datasets, improve data structures, and create new datasets where needed.
• Design and monitor core metrics, perform root-cause analysis, and identify trends and opportunities.
• Measure risks associated with feature and product launches and answer strategic business questions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or another STEM field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience in data science, data analytics, product analytics, quantitative analysis, and machine learning.
• Experience using SQL and Python to extract, manipulate, and analyze datasets.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data modeling, including hypothesis testing, experiment design, regression, and classification.
• Experience experimenting with and testing minimum viable products to assess whether solutions can scale.
• Ability to work on-site in San Jose and potentially review harmful content, including bullying, hate speech, child abuse, self-harm, and violence.

• Data science, data analytics, or product analytics experience at a consumer technology company.
