Data Science Manager, Core Business - USDS

Location: Los Angeles, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $190,950–$375,516 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead a team of data scientists or data analysts in delivering company-level objectives.
• Conduct product analytics that informs product growth and supports a healthy TikTok ecosystem.
• Investigate the root causes of changes in key metrics.
• Design and build advanced analytical solutions and models to deliver business outcomes.
• Analyze user growth levers and identify opportunities for business initiatives in the U.S. market.
• Use data to support user safety principles and enforcement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time experience in an analytical role at a top-tier social media or entertainment company.
• 2+ years of experience as a people manager.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or another science or engineering field.
• Professional experience with SQL, Python, or R, including work with large datasets using SQL.
• Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, and highly organized approach to work.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of machine learning, causal inference, and AI concepts.
• Experience with livestream products.
• Experience collaborating with international partners across different time zones.
• Interest in social technology products and fast-paced environments.
